Apple Sauce Cookies

Ingredients

3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg (beaten)
1 cup Apple Sauce
2 cups Flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves

Directions

Cream together sugar and shortening. Add beaten egg and apple sauce. Mix well then add remaining dry ingredients which have been sifted together. Blend, and drop by spoonful on cookie sheet.

Bake in moderate (375°) oven.
